So I finally decided to get an ARB front bumper for my 2013. Just my luck though - it turns out, ARB is having some supply chain issues(Covid related, apparently) and there are no Summit(3432220) bumpers available in the whole country, with the lead time being at least 3, if not 6 months. Summit is the later version that is for 14-16 models but fits 10-13s as well. Some people on the forum(@mbw) are running this. I wasn't willing to wait that long so I had to figure something out. Lo and behold, there was one older Deluxe model(3432210) in stock in Seattle so I got that instead. Installed it this past weekend so wanted to post some pics.
Overall, very happy with the quality and the workmanship of the actual bumper. It ended up being a two day job and you definitely need two people(at least) to put it on(a hydraulic jack helps too). Started Friday evening with removing the old bumper and all the components from it(washer nozzles, foglights, parking sensors, wiring) and finished late Saturday night. To be honest, ARB's instructions leave a lot to be desired - the pictures are grainy and small and their terminology is different so there was some head scratching. However, all the bolts and washers and cage nuts(this thing uses a LOT of cage nuts) are there and everything is included and of good quality. With this bumper, you reuse your old fog lights. I did not put in a winch so there is a fairlead cover where the winch would normally go.
I also wanted to some bright lights on this thing but did not want to pay the $700+ for the ARB round led lights so I found these Primelux 8inch LED round lights on Amazon that look a lot like the ARBs but are way cheaper. My old bumper had a light bar in the grille opening, so I ended up using the same wiring to power these. They're tied to the high beam circuit as my old light bar was and are very very bright
Anyway, very happy with the result. The gap between the headlight and bumper could be better/more even, I will fix that later. The car also feels a little heavier in the front, which actually makes it much more stable on the highway. I upped the front tires to 44psi, which seemed to help a lot. I hope ARB resolves their supply issues soon as these bumpers are awesome. Here are some pics. Pardon the bugs on it, as I already took it on a trip to the beach yesterday.
