Hey I was just wondering if you guys have had any troubles with your battery draining. If I drive my 99 DiscoI every day it's ok. But if I let it sit for a couple days (two or three) when I go to start it it's either dead or on the verge. can anyone help me with this? What could cause this?
Thanks,
Adrian

Sounds like something is either on or you have something hard wired to the batter that isnt' turning off...

The Alarm ECU could be having issues. Check the load on the battery by removing the ground cable and check between it and the battery to see how many amps are getting pulled...

Then start removing one fuse at a time till you find the issue.

Also ... have the battery tested. Usual lifespan is about 4 years for an automotive battery.

Brand new battery and alternator. What kind of draw should there be with the truck off? Cause there will always be something for like radio memory and alarm. Couple amps maybe?
Let me know.
Thanks!

Less than an amp ... new battery could be bad ... alt could be bad.

If you have a volt meter, read the voltage across the battery. It should be around 12.5 VDC. Start the truck up and check the voltage. It should be somewere close to 13 to 13.5VDC and if it is colder over 14 VDC (ambient temp.)
