I just noticed the other day that the exhaust pipe leading to the muffler is bent way out of shape. It is at the point by the back tire.

My question is....I just hack off behind the bent part and run with no rear muffler right? (well I expect the sound to be like the dukes of hazzard of course) The muffler I have now is corroded and rattley so in time I will need a new set up.

How far do I need to cut back in order to not heat the rear tire or get too much exhaust in the cabin? Would there be any problems with this?

first the one on the rear is the resonator not a muffler... it is just there to keep the noise level down in the cabin...

If you cut that off and don't at least extend it out the back it will be loud in the cabin area, but it may also cause exhaust fumes to enter the cabin.

I would at least have a pipe welded and have it extend beyond the rear bumper.
