Blower Motor LOUD Noise Pass Side Dash

when i turn on the fan, i get a loud noise from the passenger side blower. the noise gets progressively louder as you increase the fan speed. i don't want to burn out the motor but obviously need the fan...any suggestions before going to dealership? thanks!

Either the blower motor is beginning to fail or you have sucked leaves or other thing into the blower cage which need to be removed.

Thanks Mike, I appreciate the speedy reply. Looks like I might have some squirrels in there, leaving acorns behind on top of the engine block. I bet they left some treasures behind in the blower cage. Gotta love fall in New England!
