Hey Guys, I have no air flow coming into my Discovery II at all. I took it to a guy and he said he believes the wire came loose because there was still power in the fuse. I had a friend of mine rig it so the fan would blow air so I could have air conditioning this summer, but it caught fire today and burned the fuse off. Does anyone know If I need to have the front dash removed to re-attach the wire, or what should I do? Thanks for the help and I hope everyone understands this post. I am a girl who knows absolutely nothing about cars!

That was the old "penny in the fuse box trick". I suspect the fan motor used up all the brushes and grounded out. You will need to have that fan motor checked and probably replaced. DO NOT simply replace the wire. Get the fan motor checked out completely. Of course (small chance) there could be a problem with the original wiring and it became frayed or damaged but you will still have to do the same thing. You have been having trouble with poor charging of the battery also right?

I haven't had anything wrong with my battery. The motor wire was rigged and double fused and worked fine for over a year, and today it burnt up. Other than the wire being a problem, there has been nothing else wrong.

You could have burned the entire truck to the ground! If it was double fused (fuse on both ends right?) it's hard to see how it happened unless the wire was under rated for the load (wire was too skinny). I'm still suspicious of the fan and the control module/AC. It needs to be fixed properly by someone at least as smart as the dealership.
