Two new tire choies for LR3 HSE I''m considering due to lower pricing and higher treadwear ratings but doesn't seem to be any threads reviewing these; only the options of the OE GY Wranglers, Michelins Synchones or the Pirelli's. At a $100. less a tire these seem to be the logical choice?

...maybe there is no thread because we couldn't actually find them in the size you indicate.

I haven't looked these up, but in addition to treadwear and size, you need to make sure the load rating is okay. The LR3 is one heavy little SUV

These come in size and proper XL load rating, but I also

see no reviews on them. Curious.

Okay, peace...I retract my statement as I have now found info on both tires of that size. I cannot answer your question on why there are no reviews; maybe they are new tires?

I can't say how they will do compared to the other choices; I know I'm happy with the Michelins for on-road performance and wear.

Do you plan on going off-road much?

Do your Michelins work well in the snow, do they seem to wear well overall?
I was quoted $165 or so for a Toyo today, but I lack faith in that brand for winter use. I can get Pirelli for $220 or Michelin for $240 or so, not sure which way to go. No one seems to offer me these Bridgestone or Hankook tires.

Personally I'm not sure that any of the tires I've seen in this size will work "well" in the snow....I guess it's all relative. I think the Michelins would work as well as any of the others I've seen in the 255/55R19 size.

skeptical of the Hankook, lower tier tire (I have Icebears on an Audi).
Bridgestone tells me the tire is not yet in the production and supply stream, maybe 1-2 months. Shucks. I asked our tire guy to confirm. This Bridge gets very good reviews from owners of other sized fitments. I would jump on them, particularly when comparing the comments to the present options of Mich, Pirelli or Toyo in 255 55 19.

Have you heard bad things about the Synchrones or something?

Mixed reviews on TireRack's user postings site, particularly regarding coping with light snow and wear/tread life. I have used dedicated winter wheel and tire sets for the Audis, but was going to try one (new) set of all seasons for this coming winter cycle on the HSE (gosh, winter has not even ended and I'm discussing the next one). I can always reverse course later by purchasing snows, but was not eager to drop another $1000 without wheels and then have to hassle with swapping the tires. We'll see.
