Not sure what part of the vehicle you are referring to, the main ECU? More importantly, what exactly are you trying to do? There is tons of knowledge on this forum for you to tap into but we need specifics.

Hi macrover, thanks for the reply. From my understanding this box is located either behind the glove box or under the scuff plate on the pass side door. Apparently I have to get to it as a wire in there may have become corroded (due to my sunroof leak) So I just have to get into this thing and clean the wire and re-solder it.

Its all due to the remote for my door locks not working and Ive been told the RF receiver is located in the Central Junction Box and that is whats become corroded.

thanks for any info macrover and anyone else who may help !

Ahh that explains it. Hopefully others will weigh in but I was under the impression that the RF module was underneath the roof console lighting / hvac controls for the second row seats.

Here's the tie-in from GTR:

RF RECEIVER
The RF receiver converts the signals from the remote handset into digital messages and transmits them to the CJB (central junction box) . The RF receiver is installed above the headlining, on the cross-rail between the top of the B pillars. Operation of the RF receiver is powered by a permanent battery feed from the CJB (central junction box) .

The CJB is the core of the Communications Bus in the cars electrical system. It is very delicate. Be careful.

My god that sounds dangerous. Great info though. Maybe Ill just let my dealer have at it while they are doing the daytime running lights. About a $1000 later I should have some lights for the day time and a keychain ! What a bargain !

Daytime run lights should cost you no more than 1 hour shop time. It takes them longer to plug the computer in than to make the change. Just had it done in Portland. Cost me $75. No key chain though :frown:

Thanks Macrover, I ended up going to a regular mechanic and he 'by-passed' the computer and just got the fog lights going for us. The fog light light is always on now though. He only charged $150 for it, so I saved over $300. Not sure what the dealer will say when they see this though ! Still no key FOB from LR though, its going to be getting cold here soon, worried about keeping on with using the actual key in the door.

thx again all !

daytime running lites changeover takes aproximately fifteen minutes to complete. its a simple procedure using IDS. We use to have to change the CCF file which took twenty minutes but now they bypassed it with a simple procedure and its easy.

a thousand dollars. My god the dealer is ripping you off beyond repair.

even the fog lite installation takes a half an hour and you have to reprogram the ccf for twenty minutes so that the fog lites will activate when you turn on the high beams.

and for the guy with the problem with no rf reciever.

remove the passenger side floor moulding and around the area of the seat you will find the wiring loom, inside near the bottom is a four broken wires. basically there is a splice that gets corroded and breaks. its a really cheap repair by landrover at the factory. so basically repair all four wires and put them back together and you got the signal back.

its a green and red wire I beliive but trust me, if its broke you will see it.

Wicked stuff Sandman, these wires that are corroded, would you say its closer to the door or to the seat itself ? Are there screws to remove the floor or is it just a matter of snapping back the plastic part by the door (the scuff plate is it ?) It's my next job to get this key/remote going so any more specific detail would be great.

This forum is rolling! You guys have been awesome.
