When you guys change tires for the weekend off-raoding and then change back . . . is there ever an issue with the tire pressure sensors?

Nope, not if you have sensors in both sets. Havn't tried it without any sensors.

Only if you have them put on. Or buy a set that has them on. They cost about $70 each from the dealer. They are part of the vavle stem and inside the tire.

I will add that I use to not have one in my full size spare and yes you get low pressure warning and maybe( I can't remember for sure) a message that the sensor is not detected, when it is on the car. Off-road you usually have your tires aired down so you have the warning anyway until you air back up.

I added the sensors later when I got a second full spare because I rotate the 2 spares onto the car every 5k miles.

Why spend the money for 2 sets of tires and wheels when there are really great all purposes tires that will handle on and off road real well?
In my case, I run BFG MT's, get around 50,000 miles a set out of them and they are as smooth as glass on the highway, and with the optional sipping I had done, they are awsome on snow, ice and on slick rock.

This would be good advice if BFG made an MT to fit the LR3. I am very interested
in the KM2's.
