The dreaded check engine light lit up on my 2010 LR4. After playing around with the hidden diagnostic menu and restarting the vehicle a few times, the check engine light disappeared and hasn’t come back on.
the vehicle performance wasn’t hindered in any way when the check engine light was on. Though couple of days ago, the engine was idling higher even after it warmed up and in Neutral. That issue also seems to go away after restarting the engine.
so naturally I’m now concerned this vehicle may leave me stranded in the middle of nowhere unless I can fix the rootcause.
The hidden diagnostic menu shows a bunch of DTC codes. Mostly seem to be related to the infotainment system, but there are couple of interesting ones related to vehicle speed signal and high battery voltage.

Anyone experienced these issues?
Is there a reasonably priced OBD II scanner or GAP tool you would recommend to DIY the issue(s) further?
