Hey,

I got at check engine, gas cap notice. It's a silly thing to have a check engine light for that. Anyway, I resealed it and the light hasn't gone away. It's an annoyance, but I'm just curious if it will reset itself or do I have to take it in to the dealer?

That's what I was wondering. It happened last week and hasn't gone away yet. I'll just wait it out.

...Ridiculous or not, it sure beats going to a dealer and pay $$$ to reset it, as is the case with some other luxury auto makers

You're kidding? I thought they all go off once the problem is addressed like the other warning lights.
