I currently run Cooper Zeon LTZ 285/60/R18 on pavement and off road :creep:

and am now interested in buying a 2006 Range Rover Sport 19" 5 spoke rims
with Continental Cross Contact 255/50 R19 tires
for pavement driving use only

Has anyone ever used these rims and tires ?
and what is your experience , thoughts and advice ?

thank you !!! :hmmmm2:

please see image of actual rims and tires

I used to have those as stock on my RRS when I first bought it. The tires are OK on dry and wet pavement - they handle well and have a high speed rating but aren't especially quiet or comfortable due to the fairly low profile - and almost useless on ice or snow (they are summer tires.) Their sidewalls are like butter, if you brush a curb one day you will probably leave a big chunk of rubber behind. So, I would not much trust them off road, either, regardless of what Land Rover says in their brochures. I think stock 19s on an LR3 are a hair larger (255/55?), so your speedo may become slightly inaccurate as a result, but minimally so. Other than that, the rims should be a straight swap for your LR3.

I have a set of stock 19's from my '08 LR3 that have only 300 miles on them. They are 255/55/19, so yes, once again Umberto is correct - slightly larger than the RRS 255/50 size. I too had a Sport with the Conti's on them. I did not care for them. I did some off roading in them at first, but quickly changed to the 285/60/18's first in the Nittos, then the Coopers. I run the Coopers all the time now on the new LR3, and am just saving the stock 19's for when I get rid of he LR3 someday. But that will probably be a long time from now. I liked the on road feel of the Goodyears that came stock on the LR3 much better than the Conti's that were on my old RRS. Must smoother and quieter. Felt like I was on rails with the handling.
