Couldn't turn on engine

I tried to turn on the truck after a car wash and it wouldn't start. I did notice that when stepping on the brake pedal to start the engine, the pedal wouldn't travel. So when pushing the start/stop button all I did was turn ignition on (no engine start).

After figuring this out (I didn't immediately) I tried releasing the parking brake and slightly pushing the truck backwards. It worked I got back on, I could press the brake pedal and now feel it travel. The engine started as usual.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

I am envious of your Land Rover problems, Alex. Really wish I had one so I could be part of the fraternity of dissappearing navigation screens and audio systems; mysterious creaks and noises; unexplained engine stalls; unexplained ignition failures; unexplained dash lights and other warning signals; and messageboard celebrations following 3,000 consecutive miles of failure free driving. Sounds like a great club.
