crossbar noise

Has anyone tried the trick mentioned in the previous thread with the velcro on the crossbars to eliminate the noise while driving?

Does it work? Or has anyone tried anything or bought anything to eliminate the noise caused by the factory crossbars?

The thought just came to mind and I didn't want to search for the old thread. Seems like you have a lot of time on your hands.

Here you go! Remember to apply it to a dry, room temperature crossbar (take it off and let it sit in your house for a few hours to ensure good adhesion)

Thanks! That helps a lot. It's on my list of things to do this weekend. It'll be nice if something so simple can get rid of the whistling.

No problemo amigo. Home Depot carries the particular Velcro I used.... Remember to use the "Loop" side of the Velcro, not the "Hook" side. --AZSTALZ

This is an old post, but i'm glad to have found it. No matter how far back i put the crossbars, they would whistle-- even with sunroof closed.
After applying the velcro strip the whistle is now gone.
