Ok this is a long shot, but what about a brake switch going bad? Since the brake switch also shuts the cruise control off, and they are known to go bad....

Just thinking.

Did check brake switch as it was the fault before. I'm here to tell you when i'm on vacation in June I'm going to spend my time on this trouble. I already have spent close to twenty hrs on it. As stated previously I have the electrical manual and I went thru all of trbl shooting guide one step at a time and everything pointed to the ecu. I been an electronic trouble shooter most of my career somethings just defy of or elude manuals. Joey I think your grounding trbl idea is making the most sense right now. I would like to know if anyone tests diode z186 they get 11.8 volts to ground. I'm thinking this diode is not seeing enough voltage because of a grounding issue. And of course the speed sensor is my other concern as I don't know what it's doing at high speeds. I should see a square wave but till I by an invertor for my 110 ac scope I won't be able to test it.
