bad vacuum line, check all the vacuum ends for cracks... starting at the pump behind the drivers side headlamp (USA model) and work your way back to the bulkhead and the 'T'. Hope this helps.

It could also be the switch behind the brake peddle.

checked hoses - found one with a split at the end - cut and re connected - nothing
checked fuses and brake pedal switch(at end of hose) it was loose so I refited the end that holds it in place - though is doesnt seem that was sufficiantly loose
what else should I check - -the module behind the headlamp - what is it- could that be bad - can I test it?

thanks for all the help guys!

Cruise control

I checked my hoses and they were cracked just like you said. I cut all the cracked ends off and reconnected them to the t-connector. Wallah!!! problem fixed. Great Tip!!

Thanks again!
