The owners manual implies that you can shift into 4L between 24 MPH and 2 MPH. I've just been rolling and dropping down to 4L, not sure exactly how fast but its been a smooth transition. Today I tried shifting down while rolling faster (less than 10 MPH probably) and the transmission doesn't pick the right gear to drop into and slowed the vehicle a bit much rather than picking the right gear.

I felt like trying the shift again but the next time give it gas to bring the RPM's up after actuating the transfer case to 4L and on the transmission change from N to D in normal terrain mode. The t-case and gearbox is advance and new so I didn't want to risk a stupid, expensive and potentially disabling mistake and try it. But it does make sense to bring the R's up so that the shift would be smoother if it always drops into 2nd from N while in D?

If it were a manual then I could make the t-case shift in 4L, but have the transmission in 3rd or 4th. Maybe that is what is intended, to drop into 4L then from N into command mode, bump a shift up all in one motion while traveling 15 MPH? lol

How is it possible to drive 15 MPH or even 20 MPH and drop down to 4L smoothly?
