Dead Battery

My Battery died after a half hour of listening to the radio and watching a DVD. Does anyone know if there is a way of adding a second battery for a longer battery life?

If you can find space in the engine compartment, go for it. But there is no "official" kit.

I'd love to do the same thing. Looks like plenty of space in that plastic compartment under the hood (drivers side). Actually...looks like it was intended for a second battery. Anyway, its there on my '05. Never was sure how I'd hook things up so it would stay charged, but could disconnect it easily so when the car was off...one battery would stay fresh while I drained the other on the stereo. Or something like that.

Oh well, as it is, I just don't get to listen to my car stereo on the beach like I used to.

Yes, that box on the drivers side is purposed for an Optima yellowtop. There are a number of threads on adding a second battery on www.disco3.co.uk. There is a regulator/device that controls the output and when it takes a charge, and with that simple unit, it seems pretty easy to run 2 batteries, but I've never done it.
