I did program the new key fob but unfortunately it didn’t work, my car still have the radio rebooting every 10 seconds, I’m really frustrated, my next try it’s going to be the Bluetooth module which is on the trunk right panel. First I need to buy a new/used module.

I think you're jumping the gun a little. You can unplug the module first and see if it fixes your problem. (Leave the fiber connected as a "through way").

That said, have you pulled the touchscreen or audio unit yet? Honestly, if it was the bluetooth unit, you'd just see the bluetooth randomly dropping offline in the touchscreen, not the whole touchscreen rebooting. (Trust me, I've played with mine like that before).

Watch this video:

The guys at powerfulUK do a great job of showing how to troubleshoot the MOST bus, but also explaining what the symptoms were. If your bluetooth module is bad, it'll just be gray'd out in the touchscreen.

Long story even longer, I think you're spending money on the wrong part. I'd do some more troubleshooting before pulling the trigger on any used parts.

Remember, all it takes is a drink to get spilled on the front accidentally and it'll short the audio unit out....and I've seen a lot of touchscreens go bad. Just saying....

Anything from 2012-2016 will work.

Oh yeah, and I just remembered to tell you, only the 2010/11 had a separate bluetooth module. 2012+ models have the bluetooth modules in the audio unit.

On Page 1 I provided some eBay links that show what to look for. I'm in agreement with Tapps33; I'd start with the audio unit (photo also posted on page 1); if that doesn't work then I'd replace the touch screen. To help remove the dash I suggest also loosening the center console. I can provide help if needed. Loosening the center console helps get these two side pieces out more easily:

I dealt with the rebooting infotainment system issue for years on my 2013 LUX HD LR4.

I had a break in the MOST fiber optic ring. Dealer wanted $5k to fix (and it turns out their solution wouldn't have fixed it anyway). I spent over $1k replacing stereo components but never got it working. I sold the LR4 before trying to replace the most likely culprit - the satellite radio module in the cargo bay. The buyer installed a fiber optic jumper cable in place of the satellite module that I included with the sale and that worked. I'd suggest getting one of these fiber optic jumpers to test each of your stereo/infotainment modules. Otherwise you just throw good money after bad.

See this thread....my posts start around page 3:

Today I read the faults using my GAP tool and I believe found the problem:

SRM-Satellite Radio X
B1D21-13 (28) Remote control switch - General electrical failure - circuit open

And I did look for information online and found this:

On a 2012 Land Rover LR4, "SRM-Satellite Radio X B1D21-13 (28) Remote control switch - General electrical failure - circuit open" indicates that the circuit for the satellite radio remote control switch is not functioning properly due to a break in the electrical connection, meaning the switch is not sending signals to operate the satellite radio because the circuit is open and not completing the electrical path.

Breakdown of the code:
  • SRM:
Likely stands for "Satellite Radio Module" - the part of the car's electronics that handles satellite radio functionality.
  • X B1D21-13 (28):
This is the specific part number for the satellite radio remote control switch on this Land Rover model.
  • Remote control switch:
This refers to the physical button or switch used to control the satellite radio functions (like changing channels, volume, etc.).
  • General electrical failure:
This signifies that the issue is not related to a specific function of the switch but rather a problem with the electrical circuit itself.
  • Circuit open:
This means that there is a break in the electrical connection somewhere within the circuit, preventing current from flowing properly to operate the switch.

Possible causes for this error:
  • Damaged wiring:
A wire connecting the switch to the satellite radio module could be frayed, cut, or corroded.
  • Faulty switch:
The physical switch itself may be malfunctioning or broken.
  • Loose connection:
A loose connection at any point within the circuit can cause an open circuit.
  • Faulty satellite radio module:
In rare cases, the issue could lie with the satellite radio module itself, not the switch circuit.

I’m sorry for copy and pasting the info here and thanks guys for your suggestions. I will wait for the weather to change and take time to look videos of how to open the dashboard and check connections.

I was wondering if the Satellite Radio shares the same module as the Radio and GPS?

Thanks again,

George,

I’m glad you found the problem! FYI, before you tear the dash apart, the satellite radio module is behind the rear quarter panel.

Thanks for your response, can you let me know if the rear quarter panel is the top one or the bottom.
It is the one next to the screen?
I’m sorry but I don’t have experience on this.

The rear quarter panel is right next to the 3rd row seating. In order to remove it, you have to remove the lower seatbelt bolt, a Phillips screw about halfway up the rear of the rear door frame, the rear cargo tie downs and trim plate, then the tailgate support wire.

This video explains it A LOT better than I can:

That said, I believe their LR4 is a 2010, so yours will look a little different. Specifically, when you remove the trim panel, you’ll see the amp, satellite module and KVM module right there in front of you. The modules are ideed “labeled” but if you’re wondering which is which, the satellite is the one with the orange fiberoptic wires going into it.

As @Blueaz said, picking up a fiber jumper is a good idea, that way you can just disconnect the fiber, jumper it and see if it fixes your problem. (I’d probably unplug the other connectors too, but you definitely have to jumper the MOST bus for everything else to work.
