You're right...
I know Monster is making an iCruze for the Mini. As I said, it's not cheap though.
I investigated making up an adaptor for my Saab head unit. It's made by Harmon Kardon and is a very nice unit. There is an interface for a CD changer and I was just going to see if I could pin out the interface and make one for my iPod and my satellite radio. The problem, however, came when I started looking for the adaptor cable for it. Apparently, there aren't any available. They either did very few or never released the CD changer for the Saab 9-5s. And when I investigated it further, I discovered my solution wouldn't work. Saab designed a stereo which would be 100% useless if it's ever stolen. Part of that is the stereo must have a valid signal from a valid CD changer in order to play audio through the interface. It's not just any signal either, it's a code like the codes many OEM radios use to prevent theft. It also works the other way around so the CD changer is useless without the correct head unit.
Sooooo, to make a long story short, I could not do that with my Saab. When I wind up getting my Disco (should be in the next few months if all goes well) I'll probably just replace the headunit with a unit with Sirius radio built-in and a way to interface my iPod. That would just be heaven for me...
