Obama hasn't done anything to make getting a CWP any harder, in fact he's been a boone to the gun biz due to misinformation like yours. Since he's been in office folks have been buying guns in record numbers (myself included). The Gun industry should thank the man.

:bootyshak

Great point. Now if only middle class taxes went down and he saved a car company or two as well. Oh wait that happened too....

Back on topic, I have the XD40 as well, nice gun but be careful with the cheapy aluminum jacket rounds. Mine got jammed so bad the gunsmith had to send it back to the factory. It was all free of charge but I would have hated to need that next round at the moment.

A couple of people here have the Springfield XDs and HK USPs. I'm in the market and I'm down to a HK Compact 45 or a Springfield XD45. I like the Sig, too, but I'm actually leaning towards the HK. I want a .45 for a number of reasons (the only reason I'd get a 9mm or .40 is for the high cap magazines). Anyway, anyone have a preference between the XD or the HK USP? The HK looks pretty bomb-proof to me.

Just FYI, I'm CCW permitted, too. It's almost unnecessary in Virginia. I have a similar velcro system in my center box. I have 1911 that I carry in there, but it's too big and nice for regular abuse.

My favorite right now is the Kimber .45 Super Carry Ultra in the photos. Beautiful pistol and accurate. It's a firearm that is the shooter versus the weapon on accuracy.

The 1911 model is my favorite. Glock, Walther, HK and Beretta are part of the collection, but the .45 caliber 1911's are at the top of my list. It's the weapon in condition 1 that I feel has the most safety features.

The 3" barrel is fantastic for carry, helps with the limited space available sometimes in your vehicle or on your body. The 4 1/4" and 5" models are sweet, but for daily carry I want the punch and compact of the Ultra model.

A good organization on this subject is www.usconcealedcarry.com.

Love my 1911 but my glocks eat anything I have with no issues. Never really wanted to go glock but all my friends had and I have never looked back. Need to see how my gen 4 g23 40 does tomorrow. Going to go with 250 rounds right out of box just to see how she does. Normally a complete detail before shooting.

In Texas, your vehicle is an extension of your home, so no CC permit is required.

I always carry a gun. I'm no conspiricy theorist but I believe in the constitution and carry one only because it drives the stupid little socialist freaks nuts! Same reason why I drive a rover. I'm destroying the planet one gallon at a time! My favorite gun to carry is a Keltec 9mm because it's so small and I'm a small guy. Easier to hide. Also very safe if it was ever to get into kids hands, God forbid. I happen to be a school principal and carrying a gun to school is illegal, but then again so is speeding ;)

In Arizona no CCW permit is needed at all, so I guess that makes the whole state an extension of your home.

Wow... just read the thread. So long ago did I post on page 1.

A few years back I got my concealed license and carry every day. My EDC consists of my Glock 26 with plus P loads, a Kershaw Skyline and a paracord bracelet...

LR3 is still my DD. Black like my Glock. :bandit:

Great to see fellow LR3 owners exercising their 2nd amendment rights!

DONT TREAD ON ME! :hello:
