hi, me again another question.96 land rover discovery sd 171,000mi. this time about the power locks. theyre driving me absolutly insane. i have the keychain remote but it does nothing (not sure if its a dead battery in the remote or if the keyless entry dosnt work anymore). regardless when trying to lock the doors manualy im having quite a problem. at first i just tryed hitting the lock for the driver door that makes all 4 doors lock, then just shutting the door. they all just popped back up, no big deal i know other veicles have lock systems that you have to hold the handle while you shut the door. i tryed that. no luck. i then simply tryed useing the key on the outside of the driver door to lock them all. and guess what. NO LUCK!! i then moved to holding the outside door handel while pushing down on the driver door lock. this works on ocasion, about 1 out of 34 times i can lock it. it gets me impressively angry. is there a easy fix for this or ill be happy to just disconect the power to the locks so i can just manualy lock each door and they wont pop up any more. i honestly think ive never been madder in my life than trying to get the power locks to work.
thanks for your time

First is sounds like your remote is dead. the only way to lock the doors is without the remote is via the key in the drivers door.

If you attempt to lock the doors via the drivers door and they still unlock the odds are that the drivers door lock spring is going or gone bad.

Sounds like it either needs adjusted or it is like mine and requires some effort. i.e. I need to spend some time and adjust it.

Door Locks Out Of Sync

MY 2000 LR DISC II DOOR LOCKS IS OUT OF SYNC. WHEN I USE THE KEY REMOTE ONLY THE BACK DOORS UNLOCK, WHILE THE FRONT DOORS STAY DOWN. I HAVE TO PHYSICALLY USE THE KEY TO OPEN THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR TO ENTER. THE PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT RESOND WHETHER I USE THE REMOTE OR THE KEY.

Sounds like either a bad actuator or they have a short going to them.
