acouple of weeks ago i was doing some urban off-roading and goign through some puddles that were about a foot deep and the engine runs for a little while but i cannot accelerate and it eventually dies. I though i could solve the problem by buying the distributer cap cover and solenoid cover so yesterday i tried to see if would happen again. It stalled again, and i have to wait about 15 minutes for it to start back up. I just went to the dealer for the recall on my 95 discovery and asked them and they said it was the ignition wires that were gettign wet. Has this ever been a problem for anybody else and is it the wires i need to replace. I bought a discovery to go through water and off-roading and it has not allowed me to do that.

Might be that the ECU is getting damp.... LR have been known to get water in the ECU area or in the front fuze box, this can cause issues.

There is a difference between going through water (after you have sealed the distributor with a plastic bag, sprayed WD40 or similar on it as well as the plugs and coil lead), and just driving through the water, unprepared, as fast as you can, so as to impress your friends as to how high you can get the water to spurt off your tires. I'm not suggesting that you have done this, but i have seen it. Try spraying the inside of all you leads with a short spray of WD40 or similar water displacement spray and see if this solves your problem.
