Based on your responses maybe $450 at the dealer, which should ensure right color and correct assembly of parts isn't too bad. I'm assuming they would take the tail gate cover off, fix the dent and paint the entire part.

$450 at the dealer is a STEAL - here it would be more than $1,000 no doubt at all. Go for it, buddy!
