Gas Plate?

I was thinking about buying and installing a protective plate over the gas tank. Is this a hard part to install? Where can I get a good/inexpensive one?

Where are you located, and how much off road, rock crawling type driving do you do???
Do you have a lift. if so how much, what about tires, how tall???
