I have a '94 D1 i purchased about a month ago, with 144,000 miles on it.. When I bought it it had a miss, so I changed the plugs, wires, rotor button and distributor cap. That took care of the miss, but when cold it is difficult to start. I have to crank the starter for at least 10-15 seconds before it will begin to hit, sometimes I think it helps to give it a little gas while cranking.. I am debating changing the coil and possible the elec. module, but am not certain I am heading in the right direction.. I still have to check the timing also. When the engine is warm, if I shut it off for 5 minutes or less, it will start right up within a few seconds, but if it has set overnight or even 30 minutes or so, it takes a lot of cranking to get it to fire... This morning after it set all night I held the gas pedal to the floor before trying to start it, it fired up instantly. Before i start changing out more parts I thought I would ask for some opinions???

Thanks for your help.

I'm going to be ordering a new set of injectors soon, then I may go ahead and change out the fuel pump while I'm at it.. An joey, I see wwe are not too far apart, I'm just outside of Ravenswood...

Well isn't that cool... I haven't got to meet many LR owners near me, except during the occasional off roading event with Charleston LR. We should get together one of these days.

I have a few things to do to this one, but I got it cheap enough that I can afford to put some money into it and still be ahead. I have a transfer case coming for it next week, so that is how i will be spending next weekend. I will be ordering the injectors this week also....

Dang... not a bad price.... It cost almost as much for my brake upgrades for the front on my '97 that I just ordered.... $466.86

Of course now I will have vented, sloted and drilled front rotors.

What was wrong with the old transfer case?

It has had a whine and slight vibration. When I changed the fluid last week the plug had quite a collection of metal filings on it. It also has devoloped a grind every now and then which is starting to get more frequent. With these findings I decided I had better go ahead and replace it before it went out completly...
