I have a 2005 LR3 and for a while now I have been getting the random dash messages "Cruise Control Not Available". Also, randomly, but less frequently, I have also been getting an HDC transmission fault, something like "HDC Fault System Not Available Transmission Fault". After the HDC fault, the LR3 lowers and the ABS light comes on.
I have a code reader and scanned the codes. Nothing came up for the Cruise Control (but I want to try scanning it again). For the HDC fault, I got this code: U0102 Lost Communication with Transfer Case Control Module.
Turning off the LR3 and restarting "fixes the problem" temporarily.
Finally, I think it is unrelated. But, I will bring it up just in case it isn’t somehow. The speaker in the driver side door also cuts in and out when the volume is turned low.
I have read a lot of posts about the cruise control. The general consensus seems to be replacing the "clock spring" in the steering wheel. I have read a lot of posts about the HDC. The general consensus seems to be replacing the battery (which I about a year ago). But, I have not seen a post where someone is dealing with both . . . .
My question is: Has anyone had to deal with all of these situations before? If so, what was the fix? If not, has anyone
