Hey Guys...

I bought a set of fender arches/flares for my Disco 1. I got them out of the UK and came with really crappy instructions. I got the six piece arch kit with some rubber edging. There is NO lip or flat surface to place 3M two way tape on except for an 1/8 of an inch all around which may or may not be enough. On the under side of the rear arch and front, there is lots of area that lips under the fender to tape, and I can secure it with plastic plugs or self tapping screws. The problem is the part that lips over on the door on the underside. There is nowhere to fasten a screw, and there isn't much surface area to adhere the tape to. Any suggestions?

Thank you

Pietro

Are the arch flares rubber or plastic (I know you said you got some rubber edging)? The flares that I attached were all rubber, and didn't come with double sided tape or screws. I can see why you are frustrated! What you need to do is ascertain that the flares fit. If they do, and they are rubber, get some Sikaflex 242 (I think that's the number of it), or check at a body shop for a similar adhesive, the type they use for attaching spoilers etc.
Once you apply this adhesive, make sure that you have positioned the flares correctly because once it sets, you will literally have to destroy your panels, to get the flares off.
Good luck.
