How to remove radio console/panel?

Anybody know how to do it? Im trying to hardwire my Garmin GPS into a 12v source.

Its very easy. Grasp both bottom "legs" of the vertical center panel, and pull up and slightly out. It just pops off.

A picture is worth a thousand words, right?

Thanks. I got the vertical plastic pillars out. I removed the two hex screws holding the 12V/cigarette panel out. It doesnt seem to come out all the way. hmmmm

There is more to it than that.

To pull that panel, I remember it having a bottom section that goes under the console piece. This was a while ago, but I just remember it was a bugger. Rather than attack that, I went around the problem and pulled the HVAC, radio and switch panels, and just T-d into the cigarette lighter + and - after fishing a bit. It has worked my Sirius since 2005, so it must have some merit.
Note of caution: Do not be indiscriminite and just pick anything for power or ground, the car gets kinda grouchy, thats why I picked what I picked. As far as the car knows, it's just always plugged in.
