Hvac Lighting / Led's

The bulbs on my 2001 HVAC module were burnt out, however, I was able to remove it and replace all four of them, including the one in the Auto / Fan Switch.

The problem is that the LED display still does't light up. This is supposed to be lit by the 2watt bulb in the ligt green holder. It seems that there is either no contact or no current in the connectors there.

Has anyone experienced this before? Anyone know if there is anyway to fix this situation please?

How do you get the side panels off after you remove the two screws?? I need to replace bulbs myself and cant get past this part. Dont want to break anything
