Got it fixed! I found a troubleshooting guide after some googling. Apparently in order for the bovee to work you need to have 1 song downloaded in your music library on your phone. at some point I got rid of apple music because I just use spotify and I think that was my issue. It's back to working great after I downloaded apple music and a single song.

I have a 2011 LR4 and my apple 6+ synced via bluetooth just fine for years. I started having troubles with it connecting lately, so decided to “forget” the device from the car, and now the phone and rig will not “find” each other at all. Took to dealer, they did a software update. It worked until I shut down the engine after returning home, and never to pair again. Took it back for them to do the update again, but to no avail. They now tell me I need a new module - at a cost of over $700. Anyone else having the same issue and any fixes? Or am I just gonna’ have to live with no bluetooth connection anymore for the phone? (I can still plug my phone in and run itunes thru the car system for music - just no phone connection)

I would try to reflash the instrument pack with the IIDTool first. You might get lucky and the system resyncs itself.

    DirtyHal - I did almost EXACTLY the same thing. I have a 2011 LR4 HSE. Using a Bovee 1000. iPhone 7 Plus, running 13.1.2.

I’d gotten rid of Apple Music because it kept auto-playing the same song (Steve Miller Band - Abracadabra...now my least favorite song) every time I stepped in the vehicle, and I use Spotify anyway. I upgraded to iOS 13 just about the next day...so I blamed the iOS update. But, then I connected my old iPhone 4s and it worked fine.

Long and short, your description about the Apple Music reinstall, with one song downloaded, fixed it.

To fight against the auto-play, I emptied the entire Apple Music library and installed ONLY one song (Tool - Wings for Marie, Pt. 1). It starts with a pause and a soothing, rhythmic, deep base echo...almost like an indication the Bluetooth is connecting.

    Thanks for the fix...cheers!

My wife had the same problem in her Volvo. I believe there's a song out there that is complete silence just so people can have it on their phone to address this issue.

Bovee or not, iOS 13 is a mess on BT. I can’t open my garage door with the LR anymore without cutting BT off in the vehicle. Don’t know the source of that one yet.

Ha, I never considered that the BT of my iPhone might be the culprit. I was never able to get reliable service from the built in Homelink buttons in my 2011 or 2013 LR4. I didn't like it, but eventually got used to using a basic clicker clipped to the visor. Another thing my wife is amused by when she compares my Rover tech to that in her series of Ford vehicles.

It was working fairly consistently well until
iOS 13. Now it’s dicey and might take a few tries but eventually works.

    I’m on iOS 13.1.2. 2013 LR4. Works like a charm via Bluetooth.
