So I don't have to buy a new one. Discoveries are awful money pits. Worst car I've ever owned.

Sorry to hear you having issues...

Yes you can bypass the heater core, you just will not have heat. Passenger side of the engine (top) you will see 2 hoses going into the vehicle, just put a U hose to make it go back to the engine...

Looked for these two hoses

But can't find them. I want to blow up this car. I've replaced two head gaskets, new radiator, one MAF sensor and much much more.

Think I found them. Looks like you have to unhook those things from the inside of the dashboard. Can I just saw them off from the engine side and put the uhose on there? This recession is killing me.

Further out you will see where the metal tubes end (closer to the front of the engine. Bypass with the rubber hoses, not the metal ones. The metal goes to the heater core, the rubber hoses go to the radiator and front of the engine.

Worse than that for me

My dealer did just that but used a short hose, The hose crimped and the U was more of a
V . Now three radiators later, he says this is not the problem. Says even with a V there was still some flow. I say not enough. So now it is radiator #4. in 18 Months, four towings and four car rentals . I really need opinions on this. Thanks Gary

If you read the Rave manual, you will see that based on the way the t/stat works, if you by-pass the heater core your engine will over heat badily.
Gary, in your case I would get your's hooked up before you have issues.

If it's a D1 you can put in a 'U' shaped hose to bypass it. I did it in a pinch when the pipe from the heater on my '95 failed, until I could get the core replaced. Drove it like that for about a year.
Just go to a NAPA and they'll likely have what you are looking for. It was a 'J' shaped heater hose from something and I just cut off part of it.

The problem was that when they put the bypass hose on the hose kinked and restricted to an extent unknown the flow of the coolant
