Just bought a '01 Discovery II SE, questions......

I bought a 1 owner '01 Discovery II SE on ebay (for a very low price). I am going to pick it up in Conneticut next week, but would like to get some questions answered if you guys could help.

First, has anyone written up a list of common issues and fixes with these vehicles? I am very mechanically inclined so I have no problem diving in.

Second, did all vehicles with 18" wheels have the ACE pacakge? If not, how can you tell if it is on a vehicle without crawling underneath (I don't have it yet)?

Third, what are the best parts sources for Discoveries? I am in Louisville, and we have a relitively nice Land Rover dealer which my Dad has bought from before, but I wonder who has the best prices.

ACE, yes from the factory all ACE equipped vehicles came with 18 inch tires. But some people have changed them for 16's just to purchase cheaper tires. To find out for sure, just open the hood and look for an extra pump similar to the power steering pump.

Basic common issue is: leaking PS lines, ok: most things will leak, but that is the joy of a British vehicle

So all ACE vehicles have 18" wheels, but do all vehicles with 18" wheels have ACE? Thanks for the info.

Nope, not all Disco's with 18 inch wheels have ACE...
