Lake Arrowhead trail?????????????

Looking for a good trail in Lake Arrowhead area. Nothing too serious, moderate difficulty with water crossings or a view. Just looking for a short day trip while up at the lake for a few days. Maybe have a picnic or something.

We will be staying in Blue Jay on the south side of the lake.

Try Big Pine Flat Trail - goes from Green Valley to Big Bear City on 3N16.

Passes Crab Flats Campground, Big Pine Flat Campground, goes through Holcomb Valley and all the famous mining places like Wilbur's Grave ,Two-Gun Bill's Saloon, Hangman's Tree, Pygmy Cabin - ends up passing Doble Mine just before Baldwin Lake.

Pick up an Off Road Map from the Ranger Station or San Bernardo Mountains Recreation Topo Map from a gift shop.

Interesting question. I have never run into a "gate code" requirement up here. Have you had a problem with this in the San Bernardino Mountains or are there BLM roads around here that require gate codes?

Anyway - no gate code.
