LR2 HID Headlights

Curious if anyone else has had this. I have a 2013 LR2. It's the first time dealing with HID headlight. The owner's manual tells me the bulb type is D1S and all of the internet searches tell me the same thing. But when I open the headlight housing it's a D3S. Also does anyone know about the ballast? Do the two bulbs require different ballast should I need to change them?

Thank you. It just blew my mind that the owners manual was wrong. I had already ordered the D1S bulbs, but noticed the different colors of the connections. Now I have to try to return them.
