LR4 just hit 50k. Doing the diffs, tc and trans service. 16' with ZF8HP trans. Here's the best price I could find on ZF pan and fluid. Don't mind the BMW part number. It's the same for the LR4.

I'd 100% get it from FCP Euro.

+1 That’s where I got mine
I've purchased VW parts from them in the past. Good fast shipping.

Does the ZF8HP have an external transmission cooler? I'll find out when I crawl under and look for sure.

FCP has lifetime warranty on everything, including the ATF and filters. (!!) Think this was mentioned somewhere previously in this 23-page thread? Great vendor, I buy from them as well.

Is it possible we have driven the price of this kit up to $206.97 in just a few days?

Ok all done. Diffs and TC oil looked great. Diffs were still yellow amber color. Normal mush on plug magnets. Mobil 1 75w90 Syn. TC got Royal Purple Synchromax.

Trans service about 4 hrs or 3 beer job. Fluid was still green, just darker than new stuff. Drained out 4.5 qts total. Refillled with roughly same amount. Trans temp was 105* when it started to drain out fill hole.

Hardly any residue and just a very very thin layer of metal on pan magnets. You can still see some white on filter looking inside. Honestly I could have just did a drain/refill and been fine.

Plan to do drain/refills every 25k miles going forward. Maybe change pan/filter in another 100k if we make it there.

Wife's DD. Towed our boat a dozen times during the 50k.

All my parts have come in for a pan and VB refresh but at what point does the adaptation need reset? Before cracking it open or after the filling process?

After. Also, which of the two plugs on the metal pan is the drain? There's a big plug and a smaller one. I meant to ask and don't recall which is which.

On my pan from FCP the smaller plug will get more of a drain.
