I've moved on - It's a very sad day to see her go, but it just did not make sense for me to invest heavily in either ar rebuild or a new motor.

What did you get in place of your rover?

Really? You didn't try coils or other things first??? You just went with a non-Rover Mechanic's doomsday diagnosis and ditched it? That just feels like a bad move to me. What did you get in its stead? Nothing is the same.

My 05 did the same exact thing and I replaced the coil packs, job done.
