Just following up to say that I was able to repair this issue by replacing the stripped pivot bolt which holds the top of the strut. $1.53 plus tax, and about 5 minutes, and all set.

After reading this i checked mine and the right hand side one had worked its way loose. maybe its something that should be check periodically so that they dont work loose and strip.

It seems to be the right hand side one consistently (for me) too.

Mine is the RIGHT (Passenger Side) JACKMAC - $1.53 plus tax? how does it address the stripped threads? Was this from LR?
