Heres what i got for a new 07 LR3 SE V8/three rows of seating with Cold Climate, Lighting Package (moving xeon), and the Satelite Radio. $42,903. Its grey with black interior. Seems to be a pretty good deal to me, but without any real familarity with the market thought id see what everyone thought.

Also, two questions. One, the salesperson told me that it runs as good or better on mid-grade than premium. Reason being that the gas requirements for premium in England (where it is made obviously) is the same as our mid-grade. What does everyone think?

Two, I went to start the car in its packaged form and it said "Transmission fault" she told me it was simply because of engine packing. Now the car was brand new, with zero miles, plastic over everything inside. But would this really impact the trans???

Thanks a ton for any input...

Yeah, that seems like a great price. Wow.

Don't worry about the transmission fault. If it comes up once you drive it a bit, then take it back. Who the heck knows what comes up the first time you "boot up" the car out of shipping. Its got lots and lots of computers in there.

I'd be curious to hear the advice of others on gas mileage. I tried premium for a while instead of Super and my gas mileage got worse. Now I just suck up the $60 fillups....

Big spare and rear locker? Cross Bars for the roof rack? Stick with Premium. 20 cents more per gallon times 20 gallons $4 per fill up NBD.

Seems like a good price to me. It would be good to know if has the electronic rear locking differential. I doubt your dealer actually owns and drives an LR3, so take his advice with a grain of salt. My truck does not run nearly as well with 89 octane as it does with 91 octane. These trucks have high compression engines, which is why they need the higher octane.

Depends on where you live. At altitude (4200-5000) feet, I run 87 octane with no problems-good power and comparable milage to what others have reported here. My LR dealer told me to run regular since here the higher octane isn't burned anyway. If you are at lower altitude, it may matter performance-wise.

I'm happy to hear that is working well for you. I'm at ~6400ft, but I still run 91 octane. I've typically heard that you should only run one step down in octane due to altitude (e.g. 91 to 89). Since we only have 91, 87 and 85 in Colorado Springs, I've always felt that the extra $0.20 per gallon was cheap insurance. But good to know 87 works well!

I ran across a few actual prices from other recent LR3 buyers. The only 2007 model price I found was around $45K, so it sounds like you got a good deal. There are alot of 2006 models, but I know the 2007 ones get a premium. Here is the link where I found the prices:

Good luck. Sounds like you got a good deal.

Yeah- I notice no power or milage advantage here when I've tried premium. Even towing the 87 works fine in Salt Lake.
