Does Anyone know how to start an online petition directed at Goodyear Tire Co. to start producing the Goodyear Wrangler MT/R in 255/55R19. After all, they did supply the G4 challenge with this tire. I have not been able to find a solution for agressive off road tires in this size. It is very strange, maybe they are working on a new tire for this application TBA in 2011. Also if anyone knows about a good off road 20 in wheel in black with the right offset for the Lr4, let me know. I was interested in this wheel but was informed by Vtech that there is not enough offset for the lr4.

Maybe there is a solution to make em fit. I know, I know...Give it some time, but
the right tires in the right size would be the best option so lets work on goodyear usa for a solution. The Lr4 is legendary off road vehicle and deserves more options!

They still make them in that size over in Europe AFAIK, so if you have the dough you could probably buy them from a supplier there... Europe was the only way to get those MT/Rs until a couple of years ago, when Goodyear finally started manufacturing them in North America as well. I suspect they had so few takers on this side of the pond that they just decided to stop production and focus on their new Wrangler MT/Rs with Kevlar. Unfortunately, that tire does not come in a 19" size (not yet anyway... Fingers crossed.)

PS: Compomotive in the UK makes a modified version of their PD1880 18" off-road wheel that should fit the brakes of 2010+ LR4.

Thanks, I will check out that wheel. An 18 in would be better. The more sidewall the better!

I think I am in the same boat, can't find good off road tires. I am thinking about 20" Redbourne Saxon rims and Toyo Open Country A/T in 285/50/20. Redbourne makes rims custom for Land Rover. The tire is about 1 inch taller and 1 inch wider. I don't anticipate a problem with this size but I would love to hear from somebody who has experience. According to the local tire dealer, there will be no problem, they have done this before.

I have decided to go up to 20's. 285/55r20 bfg TA/KO with Flat Black XD monster by kmc Wheels. I have 2.5 inch Johnson Rods Lift which will be full time. We will see how this goes. The profile is a little low for my tastes and I would rather use the more agressive dura tracs but standing at 33.4 dia. I seriously doubt they will clear even with the lift. I guess something is better than nothing.

Goodyear also has the Wrangler silent armour that comes in 275/55/20. The tire might be a good option for some. I really wish I would have sprung for the 20" factory wheels when we bought the truck. Now I am scrabling to find tires that are descent for 19" wheels.

wrangler MTR

The wrangler mt/r in 255/55R19 are available in europe. They are @ 1000 euro. Then you will have to ship them and I am not sure how much that will be. I have been advised by some outfitters to definitely go up to 20's. But I am still ordering the wranglers for back up on my old 19's. By the way I have found this site VERY helpful in comparing different size combos. It is already on this forum somewhere but here it is again.
