1999 Disco II 66k, is starting to give me shat. First the cargo door didn't open, from both inside or out, but I can hear it unlock, then the passenger door didn't start opening w/the keyless remote or inside. Whats the dealio? Time for a new central locking device? Any suggestions would be great. Tried taking the emblem off the back and spray a bunch of lube but that was a no go. Whats next before me and dealer get to meet.

Thanks.

I would suggest removing the inside cover of the back door to make sure the clips did not come loose/disconnected.

Same with passenger door issue.

You are seeing the lock move up and down correct? If so, then above.

If not... you may have other issues.

I'm hearing the noise of the door unlocking but no movement. Occasionally the passenger door and cargo door will unlock. Only at same time. I did take off the inside cargo door (managed to nearly destroy all redclips attaching panel to door!) Dinked around and before I did that it would open from the inside only. After I messed w/it it wouldnt open at all. I thought it was an isolated case, but now w/the passenger door, is it the entire locking system going bad?

if you hear the noise, but no movement, it still could be the accuator (sp) itself that may be bad. I know the drivers side on my '97 D1 is just about to kick the bucket.... if I use the key it works, and it even locks okay with remote, but will not unlock far enough...

Normally this is a bad sprind inside the accuator.

I have no clue about the door problem, but the cargo door problem, I recently experienced. I found on another forum how to fix it, and it only took about ten minutes.
1) Take a flathead screwdriver and pry off the landrover decal on the handle.
2) Using screwdriver, push handle away from you. Now pull the handle and see if your door opens.
3) If it does, grease it up big time with some silicon spray or some graphite.
4) Then open and close the door about a dozen times to make sure you've got it fixed.

The first time I did it, I used graphite, and it kinda sucked. It was probably a user problem though. The second time, I used silicon spray and it has worked fine. The other forum advised against silicon spray because it would attract more dust, and be a less permanent solution.

Best of luck!

PS-Me fixing this on my own was a huge deal to me because
1) I did it on my own
2) I am a girl
