These zero's are living up to their name! 255/50/20 OEM tires on our 16.5 LR4. At 15k miles they are near the wear bars. Rotated twice. Noticed one tire has failed internally as there is a golf ball sized bulge on the sidewall. Wife's DD. No offroading. Any recommendation for a good AT replacement?

    Yep,horrible tire IMO...the worse I’ve ever had.

I’m running a Nitto TG2...only 5k on them so far but I can believe any tire could be worse. All the time and money spent on rotations and alignments makes me pissed...should’ve scrapped them from the start

Pirellis get the vehicle from the factory to the dealer to your driveway. Mine were nearly bald at 10K miles. Replaced with Michelin Premier LTX which were very quiet and lasted 30K miles. However, even when new they have a rather shallow thread depth and were hydroplaning last fall before I put on the winter tires.

I just ordered a set of Michelin Defender LTX tires for Spring & Fall driving. ($70 Michelin rebate offer ends on 4/19) These have more tread depth and should be a great road tire but they are not an AT tire.

I also run Cooper Zeons in July & August for beach driving. They are a great AT tire but do get louder and louder as they wear.

That's too bad about your Nittos. I feel like I read a lot of positive reviews on them here, maybe not the case...

(Note, I also had bad luck with Pirellis on my LR3. Will never buy them again)

I'm running the Cooper Zeons (on 19" rims). Good tire if you are looking for something beefier. They do give up a little in terms of daily street driving (vs OEM conti's) - if this is just going to be used for your wife's daily driver. I could not bring myself to buy another set of Conti's because once I got stuck on a banana peel with them.

I'm likely going to go with a 265/50/20. Narrowed it down to Cooper AT3's, Michelin LTX MS or Continental TerrainContact AT.

I've ran two sets of AT3's on my Sierra. LTX seem to be the bar in that category. The new Continental's look interesting.
Debating on adding the Nitto TG2 to the list. Ran the 555r drag radials years ago on my Camaro SS. Decisions...

I’m sorry for the confusion...the Nitto TG2’s have been great....my bad on how I wrote the above.

    I loathe the Pirelli

I just put BF Goodrich Advantage T/A Sport tires on my LR2. Very pleased with them--quieter than the Toyo's that were on before and the Michelin's that are on our Grand Cherokee. Haven't gone off road with them yet, but they have a decently aggressive tread. Good price, as well.

The Pirelli's are beyond bad. FWIW I have had great experiences with the Michelin Defender LTX M/S. I have run these on multiple vehicles and they are great. You give up some ultimate AT traction off road but on the road they are awesome.
