Today my radio died, or at least my speakers did. Turned the car off and restarted...still nothing. Later, after sitting a few hours, everything worked as normal again. Strange. Anyone else ever had this happen?

Have had something similar happen numerous times. I think whats triggering it, at least for me, is when I don't set the alarm after I turn off the car and shut the doors. When I start the car after doing this the Land Rover screen on the nav freezes and the radio is screwed up. The only way it unfreezes and radio begins working again is when I shut the car off, activate the alarm on the fob and wait about 5 min. Turn off alarm with fob and start car up, works np. Strange stuff.

I've had this happen a half dozen times. It happens most often when I turn the truck off for a minute or two (e.g., run in to check the mailbox) and then back on. I always let the truck boot, but that doesn't help. It looks like a discrepency in the time-out values between the Nav and the radio.

I've found that when it happens, the Nav Screen stays on with just the green oval. If you turn the vehicle off until the Oval goes dark (3-5 minutes, not hours) then when you turn it back on it is fine. I don't have an alarm button on my fob, so I don't think that anything is needed except time (when it first happened, I thought it was because I didn't lock the doors at the post office, I started being very careful to lock up every time I got out and the problem kept coming back)

That has happened to me a as well. Had LR look at it during a service and they disconneted the battery to allow it to reset - It didn't help. Will have it checked again at my next service. Other than a few small issues, I've been real please with the LR3! No NAV.

I had the same problem periodically. Took it to the dealer (for many issues) and they updated the software along with reprogramming the ECU. It appears to have fixed the problem. I have noticed that the "boot time" on the NAV is much quicker.

Mine is radio only, no nav. Seems like it wouldn't be connected to the ECU, but maybe it is...

I used to have this problem as well. Dealer had to fix some connectors in engine compartment that had moisture. After that and a reprogram, no more problems.

Same thing has happened to me several times. No warning it's coming, it just doesn't play sound. Shut down and restart does not help. Generally comes back on sometime the same day upon restart. Certainly weird...but I'd rather live with it, than have the dealer ripping the radio out...plus it gives you time to enjoy your thoughts and reflect. Hmmmm

They didn't have to take dash apart. It was in engine compartment near electronic modules.
