Hi All,

I purchased this 97 Disco 1 SE7 without proper keys or a fob. I have since replaced the lockset with a salvage set that came with several original keys. I have the alarm ECU and fob from the salvage vehicle but am having difficulty swapping it out. Is there a procedure for this? I haven't been able to find anything online that helps out. I tried doing a direct swap and the alarm and immobilizer activates - and I am unable to deactivate it using the unlock four times procedure. I've tried the procedure referenced at http://en.allexperts.com/q/Land-Rover-Repair-1470/Alarm-Remote.htm but cannot seem to get it to work. Do I just keep trying?

Any suggestions would be helpful,
Anna

Sadly if you replace the alarm ECU you will need to have the system programed for it. This will require a LR Dealer or someone with the correct LR computer to plug in and talk to the ECU.

You should be able to use any of the rover Fobs for a D1 with the ECU, it just needs to be programed by the dealer or similar with ROVACOM computer

Sounds like it'll have to wait, nearest dealership is 2.5 hours away and I need to do my brakes before I go that far.

Thanks for your suggestions!
