I got my lower intake manifold off and found that the rear-drivers side coolant port was leaking at the intake gasket.

I am still concearned about head gaskets as it seems like they are a common problem. Since they aren't leaking now, I wonder if it might be able to tighten the head bolts some. I realize that factory torque specs are written to accomidate a certain amount of bolt-stretch, but it seems like with all these head gaskets leaking, they might not have torqued them enough.

Thoughts?

Thanks, Phillip

Don't touch

 If it isn't broken, don't mess with it.

X2 on the if it isn't broke, don't fix it... either way, if you want to change the head gaskets, change them, but don't introduce issues by tightening the head bolts it will just cause issues with an old gasket.

Have you put your Discovery back together? How is it running for you? When Rovers work right, the driving experience is something special:biggrin:

I'm waiting on gaskets and such right now.

I'm gonna do tensioner, idler, plug wires, and thermostat also.
