Hello all,
Its a 96 Disco 5speed and when I depress the clutch its a 2 count before rpms drop sufficiently enough to shift in to the next gear. When starting it also hovers around 1100 rpms for a couple of minutes making it difficult to get in to gear before it drops to around 750.

I have heard that (MAP or MAT?) sensors may have something to do with this . Any ideas?

Also how likely am I to break the zinc bolts holding the inspection covers on the transfer and transmission when I attempt to remove them. The vehicle has 105k miles on it.

THanks

Sounds more like the Stepper motor is dirty. Search for stepper motor and you should find pics. Clean with some good contact cleaner.

I don't think you will break any bolts as long as you soak them for a couple of days (i.e. spray them 2 times a day for 2 or 3 days) with some good break free or similar product, not WD40...
