Ha ha! Yeah im sure he has "never heard of it". He just didnt want to give credence to it. I think it will definitely present a challenge and not only to Audi. Im sure BMW is jeeping a close eye on the Evoque as well.

I think there will be a lot of new owners in the fold as soon as they start hitting the dealerships. Peolpe that have never even considered a LR product will be the main purchasers.

I really liked the Evoque when I saw it last week and took a close look. I picked up a part from the Land Rover dealership in Redwood City, CA and they were getting ready for an unveiling event with wine, appetizers, etc. There were two Evoques in the showroom opened up and I sat in them and took a good look. They are quite cool! That dealer said they were getting several in stock in September, but already had orders / holds for all of them.

The seats were really comfortable and I like the design. I thought visibility would be more of an issue, but it's pretty good. It's not my thing, but perfect for a lot of people looking for that type of vehicle.

In my VERY humble opinion, the Evoque is going to really be attractive to the lady buyers and that will be the segment you see most owning one. I can see lots of guys having an LR4 and their wife getitng an Evoque! :)

I can't wait to hear how they drive!

Regards, David

I would love to see Evoque succeed, in spite of being grumpy of its exterior design and engine. The brand needs to diversify its offerings and sell some cars to avoid becoming a boutique-style dynosaur doomed for extinction or being gobbled up by someone else and totally bastardized as a rsult. G'luck!
