whats up my rover buddys, had a question for you. Installed new serpentine belt on the rover. New belt fitted good. When i started up every morning now i hear a small whispering tone close to the belt and fan. Screws are on tight, and i don't see anything loose. When i drive off i can hear the noise while im driving for about 20min. Stop at a light or stop some where park and start it up again, and the noise is gone. Is it because of the new belt? Any feed-backs thanks!!!! 99disco1sd,118,000miles

At your mileage, you should have replaced both idler pullies as well as the belt tensioner, if it is getting weal, or the tensioner pulley. All 3 are know to fail.

Hi Taytum,

I would still look into changing the tensioner and the 2 pulleys. Just to be safe.
