Where'd Your Landy Take You This Mem'l Day Wkend?
I spent Saturday flyfishing for rainbow trout on the Casselman River in Western Maryland. Our put-in spot was on private property but the owner makes accommodations for courteous flyrodders (see sign). The stream runs adjacent to a working Amish farm, so all day long we waved at passing horse-drawn wagons and buggies. The setting and weather were literally picture perfect. Yes, we did catch some trout but I didn't want to stress them by keeping them in hand while struggling for my iPhone.
Flyfishing is definitely one of those Things That Go Well With Landy.
PS: In the shot of the roadway, at the very end of the visible road you can see the left-hand railing of the bridge over the Casselman. That is the north side of the bridge and about 200 yds up in that direction is the PA state line.
