I will occasionally get a system fault when driving that causes the vehicle to lower, disables all terrain response settings, and pops up the rollover warning light. Also, the yellow "BRAKE" light will illuminate.

It happened to me twice when driving at highway speeds on a recent road trip and I'll probably take it into the dealer to investigate the error codes (5K left on the extended warranty).

There are two scenarios which seem to cause this. I will usually get a system fault after these occurr so I'm wondering if this is an acceptable error code. If so, I'll ignore it and avoid the "cause," if it shouldn't occur for these reasons let me know.

I will get a system fault if one of the following happens;

1) Sand will occasionally get on my center console and seems to get down around the yellow HDC switch, causing it to stick in the depressed state. (if accidentally pushed) For whatever reason, once I'm away and driving the computer will notice this and pop up errors. I have to find something small like a paperclip or credit card to slide down in the gap and pull up the yellow button.

2) My 2 year old like's to "drive daddy's car." In doing so, he'll sit in the front seat while I'm out of the car (I have the keys) and he pushes every button and turns every switch. If you have kids, you know the deal. Often, after one of these episodes I'll get the system fault. Again, it may be related to the button sticking because of the above issue.

In all cases stopping the vehicle and powering down, then restarting clears the error condition. It is of course inconvenient to do on a highway trip and causes eye rolls from the wife, which is another problem entirely....

So, is this just a problem with debris and my toddler, or should this not be causing the error? It does seem that every time I've mentioned this to the dealer in the past, they find some sensor that needs replaced.

I'd lean towards a corroded connection related to your height sensors. The roll-over icon tips me off to this. If the Dealer has ever serviced the sensors and addressed a "patch" TSB for the sensors, odds are that the patch is not weather tight. Rear sensors seem to be the focus of the TSB. Your avatar shows the beach or ocean so I assume salt water ingress may be playing a role here.

I had the same issue. Fixed with either the wheel-angle sensor or the brake pedal switch. In my case I had my SA do BOTH because the latter was cheap. There was a thread on the disco3 forum in which many people described this.

Mine started after they replaced bushings, alignment, fixed rear parking brake cable. Starts after 10 minutes driving and I need to replace my tires ASAP but I can't bc the new tires are 285 and I can't be driving around in access mode until Monday.

So found out I had a short in my program dial that controls all the setting which threw the camber off as well causing the front to sit much lower than the rear.

It was the wheel angle sensor.

I started seeing this after they did brakes and some warranty repair to the front end (bushings and such). So it may be related to the work they did...
