Just back from a long 3hour trip from Vermont, all the sudden Temperature Error is displayed on Navi, system shutting down. Navigation shuts down and goes black. The radio shuts down as well. Has anyone seen this happen. Wondering it is because the heat was on the whole way back home...

Someone just posted a thread about this earlier this week. Long story short, the Climate Control heat is up all the way and the fan is running low. As a result, heat is building up beind the NAV head unit and it is shutting down to protect itself. Normal operation...but sort of a corner condition. I guess just turn down the temp, turn up the fan speed, or both.

Thanks Houm_WA, that's what I thought it was, I guess it's kinda of good protective measure.

Yeah, it's good to know that the electronics will protect themselves, and also good to know where those out-lyer conditions are. Since learning the cause I avoid putting the cabin in that sort of configuration. Pretty simple. There is no known fix that I've heard of. It seems strange that this condition is so easy to re-create. The NAV system ought to be more robust than that.
